When you look at famous hair styles through the ages, it’s hard to tell which ones will last. Usually, you can pick out the hair that is an absolute disaster, like the time where it was in to have asymmetrical hair. Okay, people still do that sometimes, but in reality having a great hairstyle that will stand the test of time is an art. Finding an incredible stylist that can take a trend and make it uniquely right for your hair, is a serious skill to have. Once your find that stylist, never let them go! In looking back over 2016, the year in hair, it’s easy to see which ones stand out and might last. Here are three hair trends of this past year that have staying power.
Look #1: The Wavy Lob
The vote is in and natural texture is hands down the favorite look of 2016, that should continue into the next millennium. People are embracing their waves and kinks of all kinds, so that hair is essentially more low maintenance and effortless. You don’t have to spend hours with the blow dryer and flat iron until your hair is a fried mess. Going to bed with damp hair, braided on each side can have you waking up with tousled waves that can look very stylish. Plus, it’s so much less time spent worrying about your hair, or spending money on expensive keratin straightening treatments every six weeks.
Look #2: Fringe Bangs
When you look at what the celebrities are sporting on the red carpet, you can see that fringe bangs were a big trend this year. This will absolutely carry over into the next year. You can look to celebs like, Emma Stone, Dakota Johnson, and the queen of bangs herself, Zooey Deschanel to find out how to rock this look with stylish ease. To make it more modern ask your stylist to cut layers around the front of your face for a look that works very well in adding volume and body to fine hair.
Look #3: Rose Gold Highlights
Rose gold is a big color right now in everything. With fashion, jewelry, and even in hair color. So as a color movement, this is definitely going to be more popular in 2017. This hue is just lovely with subtle warmness that makes any skin tone appear brighter, with a healthy glow. It can work just as well on dark haired gals, as those that are blonde naturally or from the expert hands of the right colorist.
