“I think one of the more difficult things starting out right after school is finding full time employment and clientele.  At Z’s I started working 40hrs a week with a full book right out of the gate.  It was such a relief to be able to utilize my trade and make a living without having to supplement with other income or stress out about networking.  I think there is a common misconception that when you work as an LMT in a spa, all you do are relaxation, Swedish massages.  That couldn’t be further from the truth.  I incorporate some form of deep tissue into 80% or more of my massages.  I get request for lymphatic drainage, reiki, cranial sacral, reflexology, you name it.  That’s not to say that I do all of those things (I sometimes have to refer out), but there is not a single CEU or elective that I haven’t been able to utilize.  I am working on all different body types with different needs and goals every day.  Working in a spa has made me a confident and well rounded therapist.  I joined Z’s 20 years ago and plan to retire from here.  I can’t imagine feeling more supported in my professional career as well as my personal life, any where else.”
